The third Swiss Cyber Security Days (SCSD) event will be held in March 2021, on site and online, in a hybrid format that takes the circumstances brought about by the coronavirus pandemic into account. Part of the new concept is “SCSD 365” – the global, interactive platform that will be available all year round to everyone interested in cybersecurity. The conference schedule’s initial priorities are familiar. A national “SME Day” will be held to raise awareness specifically of cyber risks among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Swiss Cyber Security Days, Switzerland’s most important cybersecurity event, will be held on March 10 and 11, 2021 in a form adapted to the current protection requirements with a conference and networking at Forum Fribourg. All interested individuals will be able to attend the event using “SCSD 365”, the new online platform that will go live in January 2021. The keynote speeches will either be held on site or recorded using audiovisual technology. Virtual breakout rooms will be used to stream expert tracks and best practice presentations.
“SCSD 365” – cybersecurity for all
The “SCSD 365” online platform offers an impressive symbiosis of traditional conferences and live communication, with a diverse range of digital information and interaction options. It presents relevant cybersecurity-related topics for debate year round for all interested individuals and offers trade fair-like means of communication, such as virtual booths, a marketplace with product presentation and communication channels to generate contacts and leads. Partners and interested companies can showcase themselves on “SCSD 365” throughout the year and exchange information with customers and experts from the fields of business, politics, federal and cantonal administrations and research at all levels. The “SCSD 365” year-round platform and hybrid events will form an integral part of Swiss Cyber Security Days in future.
National security: a priority topic on the agenda
The main conference part of SCSD 2021 will focus on current affairs and in particular on topics that bring sense and purpose back into cyberspace, plus the primarily profit-focused influence of digitalization on society, health, politics, the economy and individuals. Lieutenant-General Thomas Süssli (Chief of the Armed Forces), Martin Vetterli (President of EPFL) and Florian Schütz (Federal Cyber Security Delegate) will be represented on the core topic of “National Cybersecurity”. Michael Hengartner (President of the ETH Board) has been invited to talk on a second fundamental topic: “Identity and Privacy”. Additional core topics include e-government, the hyper-connected society, data protection, IoT, artificial intelligence and 5G.
National “SME Day”
Designated national “SME Day”, March 11 will feature an integrated special program aimed at SMEs and their specific needs in the field of cybersecurity. Awareness-raising aimed at SMEs will familiarize the target audience with cyber risks. Specific cases of attacks on Swiss companies and their consequences will also be discussed.
Swiss Cyber Security Days
As the Swiss platform for cybersecurity, Swiss Cyber Security Days has set itself the goal of showcasing essential topics that cover the relevant cyber challenges in our society. Politics, the economy, education and research are all in the spotlight. All stakeholders should make their way to the national platform for information exchange, inspiration and meetings with the leading experts in cybersecurity. SCSD focuses on the core values of transparency, knowledge transfer, open communication and discussion.
